Staff
- Sendero Lodge believes in fishing in the best places, at the best time, with the best guides and the best equipment in a sustainable way. The aim is to reach
Total Quality in our service. Thus every component is important and each staff member plays a vitally important part to show that quality in each little detail.
In this sense, Sendero Lodge is supported by Richard Williams Outfitters and Guides. Richard Williams was born and raised in Esquel, Argentine Patagonia. He is
a descendant of Welsh immigrants who arrived in Patagonia at the end of the 19th century. He has got a degree in Tourism and is a teacher and professional fly
fishing guide. He speaks Spanish, English and Welsh fluently and has been working as a freelance guide for the most important fly fishing entrepreneurships in
the area for the last 10 years. He has a deep knowledge of the fishing sites and strategies, particularly in the Futaleufu river. He is the person you should
meet if you want to fish in the Futaleufu river in Argentine Patagonia. He knows how to take you where wild trout is and how to introduce you to the fly fishing
world! He loves fly fishing, skiing, and all outdoors activities. He has travelled to many destinations in America, Europe and Africa, but his place in the
world is Esquel, Patagonia, where he lives with his family.
As safety is a very important factor for success, Sendero and its guides spend a long time on instruction and training in emergency and rescue courses, safety
in water, first aids and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The attendance to courses is a fundamental tool which allows us to keep up to date with the latest news
and mainly with the practice of those skills. The risks once in the river are therefore virtually nonexistent thanks to the experience, foresight and precaution
of our guides.
